Pastor Adam Chandler
Pastor Adam Chandler was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. While there, he studied Civil Engineering. Not long after, he took a year abroad to obtain an Advanced Masters in Structural Analysis of Monuments and Historical Constructions in Barcelona and Prague. Off on his own in Europe, Adam felt how necessary a proper devotional life and a good church family are and began to experience a pull toward seminary. Pastor Chandler graduated from Concordia Lutheran Seminary in Edmonton in 2020. He was ordained at his home congregation of Foothills Lutheran Church in Calgary that year on June 19 and then installed in at Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church in Victoria on July 21.
Pastor Chandler has gladly taken up preaching and teaching the Word of God and administering the Sacraments at Hope Lutheran. One of his favorite things to do in the parish is study and instruct in Christian Apologetics, the defense of the faith. Pastor Chandler also enjoys philosophy (especially ethics, metaphysics, and epistemology), literature, history, superheroes, and traveling (having visited 18 sovereign states and counting). He has been the LWMLC Vancouver Island Zone Counselor since 2023 and became a board member of Lutherans for Life Canada (LFLC) in 2024. Pastor Chandler contributes monthly articles to LFLC’s Substack.
Feel free to come in for a chat or long discussion. Pastor Chandler’s door is always open to those who wish to learn and grow in the faith, nourished by the Word of our Lord.
