Sermon Text: Ecclesiastes 5:10-20
We have to give an account for ourselves. Part of that does mean counting coins and figuring out what we can give our church and to other ministries. Sometimes we can take this as trying to scrimp and save every penny to make sure we contribute enough, but we know that Christ gave us eternal life even without a look at our financial contributions to the Church. He simply desired to love us and therefore sacrificed himself for us that we may live in his salvation. So, when we consider contributing what we have to the Church and to our neighbours, we should really be asking ourselves: how can we best love one another? It isn’t about the material goods but Christ’s love for us which we, in turn, show one another. Regardless of what we do, remember to think about love instead of money and know Christ’s love is what gave us salvation, not our works.
