Second Sunday of Easter
Sermon Text: John 20:30-31
The Bible contains what we need to know for salvation, but not everything we might want to know. Sometimes the question, “What about…?” receives the answer, “We don’t know,” because God does not provide an answer this side of heaven. We have to wait until heaven to ask Him. For example, we might ask about what we will do in heaven. We know that we will praise God by living out His vocations for us and we will love our neighbours in doing this, but we don’t know the specifics of what tasks we will do. The Bible tells us that we will be in paradise, not every detail of paradise. And this calls us to faith, that is, trust. We might not know everything God deigns for us but we know He will be guiding us in Christ that we might be forgiven, renewed, and resurrected.
