Second Sunday of Advent
Sermon Text: Isaiah 11:6
Christ comes into this world to bring peace. This means bringing forgiveness between God and humanity, between person and person, and between humanity and creation. In Eden, there was no fear, hatred, or enmity with human beings and any aspect of the creation whether beast, plant, microscopic organism, or inanimate object. The paradise Christ promises will restore us to how we should fit within creation; we would be able to play with apex predators and be immune to all disease. Christ will lead us into it, but we can still strive now to live up to our God-given status of stewards of His creation. Anticipating the harmony of the paradise to come, we can care for animals, create gardens, and preserve the creation.
