Sermon
Sermon Text: Philippians 1:9-10
It is our prayer to love and love abundantly with knowledge and discernment. For us, love is understood through Christ. He came to forgive our sins and reconcile us with our heavenly Father by his sacrifice on the cross. Love is not just about affection but the thoughtful relationships we have with one another. And Christ should be in our relationships because it is his sacrificial love we are to share. We should share love with discernment, not mindlessly or blindly. Without discernment, our love might lead to compromising on our faith or the benefit of the person we are trying to love. That is not good. So, when we love in Christ, this means that we share the good news of Christ’s forgiveness and gift of eternal life, and it means we also follow the commands of Christ and encourage people to live rightly.
