Sermon Text: Revelation 14:6-7

The book of Revelation shows an angel flying with an eternal gospel for all nations and peoples. Some people have thought that the angel might be the Reformer Martin Luther for his work bringing the gospel to the central focus of our faith, but the gospel is eternal. Christ himself preached that he frees us from our sins. Even in the Garden of Eden, God declared Christ would come to free people from the devil’s tyranny. This gospel is eternal and thus preached continuously. Therefore, we are all one with the angel as we proclaim that Christ frees us from sin and death. And this message we bear should be for the whole world, including the people who live in our own communities. What is stopping us from giving the good news of Christ to everyone? Prejudice? Dislike? Disagreement? None of that matters in Christ who makes us all one in him. Let us preach knowing that everyone who hears will join us in the household of God, free from the guilt of sin.
