What child is this who laid to rest in the manger? He is Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour who is both God and man. God does not just clothe Himself with flesh in the person of Jesus Christ, Jesus unites the divine with humanity. Therefore, when we are joined to Jesus in baptism, our humanity is united with the divinity of God. We become children of God, receiving the blessing of our Lord.
