Sermon

Sermon Text: Hebrews 9:27-28

It is appointed for a man to die once and then face judgment. Christ faced death as God in the flesh, perfect in his life, and thus does not face judgment but is God the judge. Thanks be to Him that His sacrifice was to forgive all our sins. When we meet our judge on the Last Day, He will usher us into paradise in the resurrection. The idea of dying once and facing judgment goes against the belief of reincarnation, which is held in varying ways by billions of people in the world. Sadly, it denies the promised resurrection where our bodies are raised from death into eternal life. Reincarnation necessitates you pay for your sins in future lives again and again until you free yourself from the cycle of reincarnation by coming into nothingness. For us who know the truth of Christ’s promises, we can proclaim a better word to those who hold to reincarnation by assuring them that their sins are already paid by Christ. Those who believe in him will be brought by Christ, not to nothingness, but to everlasting love with our God.
