Sermon Text: Jeremiah 33:14-16

“The days are coming…” Jeremiah speaks of the coming of the Messiah on Christmas Day. For him, the Messiah was still 600 years off. For us, the coming of Christ is 2000 years ago. However, we still celebrate it now. In fact, our celebrations are what occupy us “in these days” as we come closer to Christmas. It can be tiresome and busy preparing everything, not to mention dealing with the regular difficulties life throws at us. However, Christmas is about the love of Christ–the love which sent God in the flesh to die for our salvation and encourage us to love one another. This love is not in days far off but is in every day of our life through faith. As long as we live in this love, God will give us the grace we need day by day. If we pray to Him, regardless of if the day is joyous or disastrous, our Lord will listen and present His love to us.
