Ascension Day/March for Life

Sermon Text: Ephesians 1:16-18

I never get tired of hearing God’s grace because it is the giving of eternal life and salvation. Likewise, if we should not tire in giving thanks to God for His grace or, for that matter, giving thanks that others receive this grace too. What I do tire about is having to repeat myself on matters of obvious fact and admonitions of God’s Law. Life is good and it is wrong to murder people–whether that murder be on the street, in the womb (abortion), or in a hospital bed (euthanasia). This message is repeated all the time–over centuries, and people in society don’t seem to get it. Yet, the message of God’s grace is repeated over and over simply because people come into life in separation from God and need their sins forgiven. God’s grace must be repeated to every generation and to each person. So, to the people who grapple with the evil of death as a seeming solution, we repeat ourselves that they might be in life both in this world and in Christ.
