Christmas Eve Service
Sermon Text: Isaiah 9:2
Those who dwell in deep darkness have seen a great light. Neither the light nor the darkness are ordinary. The deep darkness is the shadow of death that looms over every one of us, which manifests not only in death but in the sorrow and despair that we feel. Christmas isn’t always the most happy time for us. We tend to miss those who are dead and those who dare not join us (death of a relationship). Yet, Christ comes as our great Light to brighten this darkness. His resurrection from the dead promises to us that death is not the end but all believers will join us again. And this salvation stems from forgiveness which heals broken relationships. Having received forgiveness from God, we are able to forgive one another and begin having our relationships in this world be healed.
